Project Description
Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. (MIRI) had been assigned by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to conduct “Preparatory Survey on Renewable Energy Development Project in Bangladesh”. Within the context of the Survey MIRI desired to obtain support from e.Gen in Bangladesh to conduct a study on the opportunities for Sub-projects under JICA Official Development Assistance (ODA) two-step loan project, as well as to estimate expected effects due to execution of such Sub-projects. This covered, all three technological domains:
Solar photovoltaic renewable energy (RE) technology
Biomass utilization RE technology
Energy Efficiency and Conservation technologies
Description of actual services provided by the staff within the assignment:
Defining a potential market for three technological domains of RE and EE&C
Identifying available and applicable technologies / products
Estimating demands
Proposing a short list of business models by considering combinations of
Estimating quantitative and qualitative effects due to execution of each of the Sub-projects
Helping the client in collecting and disseminating data.
